This book appears to be geared toward those who already have an understanding of PT design. Although I understand some of the basics, I find myself constantly looking into the ACI manual or other books containing information on PT design as many of the steps found in this text are not explained. For example, an equation may be used without reference as to where it came from and why it is necessary as well as how it might be used differently in different scenarios. Also, the book appears to be written in such a large font with so many spaces between lines that examples cover tens of pages, creating the need to flip back and forth constantly as you try to keep up with the problem being examined, with the lack of references creating an exhausting experience. Lastly, the book itself is not constructed very well, causing more than half of the pages of my text to have already fallen out. Although I plan to keep it as a design aid considering it contains a number of examples, I can not imagine there is not a better book out there for those looking to learn the design practices of post-tensioned concrete.
